Full Name: David William Ross Buckley
Date of Birth: 04/09/74
History:
David has had a varied career to date, including spells at Sandhurst whilst training to be an Army Officer,
and working as a financial advisor in the City. Having always had an interest in engineering, in 1999 he escaped the rat
race and took the decisive move to go back to university.
David has a strong academic background, covering subjects as diverse as Ancient History and Mechanical Engineering. He
spent 5 years studying Mechanical Engineering and Design at Brunel University, culminating in a Master of Engineering degree.
In 2005 David was awarded a Westfocus 'Bright Ideas' award for his design of an inclusive electronic notepad.
As part of the course David spent a year working with MERU (Medical Engineering Resource Unit), designing bespoke products
for young people with disabilities. A major part of David's time at MERU involved developing products and processes
to improve the efficiency of manufacture.
David spends much of his spare time in the Surrey Hills, on his beloved mountain bike, 'Margo', a Devinci Magma.
